Andrea has over 15 years of experience supporting local governments in climate and sustainability initiatives. As the Co-Director of Planning and Facilitation and Climate Action Director at Cascadia, she specializes in leading large, multi-stakeholder planning processes that guide effective and equitable climate action. Andrea has led numerous climate action plans, GHG emissions analyses, and climate vulnerability assessments for communities across the U.S. and internationally—ranging from small towns like Sedona, AZ, to major metropolitan areas like San Francisco. Passionate about making a positive impact on local communities, Andrea is also proud to serve on her town’s sustainability commission. Prior to joining Cascadia, she worked in a biogeochemistry lab at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, studying how coastal wetlands may adapt to future climate conditions. Andrea holds a Master’s in Environmental Management with a focus on Environmental Economics and Policy from Duke University, and a B.S. in Biology (with Honors) from the University of North Carolina. On weekends, she enjoys walking along the beach with her dog, Baker, and her children, Juniper and Jasper, near her home in Charleston, South Carolina.
