Emily Jennings

Emily is committed to working across groups to create healthy, equitable, and sustainable communities. Emily has done this by improving access to and the enjoyment of basic human needs like food, water, the natural environment, safety, and housing. With a background in Macro Social Work and experience in environmental justice, she has spent her professional and personal life at the intersection of earth work and people work. Energized by complex projects and variety, in Emily’s short time at Cascadia she has led projects focused on public transportation, waste, storm water, and litter. Emily and her partner met in 2007 in Tacoma, Washington and spent 15 years moving and traveling around the country together. They happily returned to Washington in 2022 to put down roots, be closer to family, and enjoy the splendor of the Pacific Northwest. Emily finds balance and enjoyment in growing flowers, being in nature, birding, good conversations, playing with their dog, and refusing to move due to the cat on her lap.
