Laura Baetscher

Laura joined Cascadia in 2023, bringing eight years of experience in climate equity and resilience planning in the public sector. At Cascadia she uses her background in research methods and policy development and implementation to advance climate planning and resilience work. Prior to joining Cascadia, she worked at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Office of Environmental Justice and Climate Health, developing policies and programs to protect the highest risk communities from climate impacts, with a focus on extreme heat. Laura holds a Master of Public Health and an MA in Latin American Studies from UCLA.  In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time outside in all seasons.
