Lauren Thead

Lauren joined Cascadia in 2025 with more than 15 years of experience in the sustainability field, working across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Lauren served as a consultant with Anthesis Group and ENGIE Impact where she led GHG accounting, target setting, and sustainability reporting initiatives for corporate clients in telecom, retail, software, and manufacturing. Previously, she supported local governments in South Florida with sustainability programs, including managing the City of West Palm Beach’s STAR Communities certification as well as climate action plans, GHG accounting, and policy development for local government clients. Lauren also has a strong background in advocacy, having worked across six states in the Southwest to draft and present bills for state legislatures and public utility commissions. She began her career as a green building consultant and grant manager at Southface in Atlanta, GA. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, arthouse cinema, reality TV, reading, and live music.
