Marie Horan

Marie loves to get her hands dirty and analyze the facts. She spent 10 years either designing, constructing, or consulting in the field of structural engineering before realizing her true passion was for conservation of our material resources. Marie is quickly becoming a jack-of-all trades in data analysis and fieldwork, having mastered waste sorting, participated in several modes of outreach, and can bring attention to detail and organization to any project. As a volunteer, she recently established a weekly Fix-it Night at Tacoma Tool Library where free repairs are offered to the community by skilled fixers, diverting hundreds of pounds from the landfill. Marie loves dancing, hates being cold, and only eats ice cream straight out of the tub (a bowl seems like such a waste!).
